Today we started our 3-day FTX (field training exercise), but because of the cold, we’re not spending the nights out in the field. I think that’s lame, but I’m not complaining much, since I get to sleep in the warm indoors.
Today was pretty awesome. We went to four different stations, learning about IEDs and what to do if you encounter one, more MOUT, or clearing rooms, ECPs and TCPS (entrance control points and traffic control points) which is just searching people in their cars, and then reacting to fire, or what to do if your squad is walking and gets fired at. Overall it was pretty cool. Now we have two more days of this, and I have no idea what we’ll be doing. 4 weeks left today.
